I don't know if the Atheros drivers behave the same or not. I changed it over in Device Manager and it works fine. There was also an issue where my WiFi card had the correct driver installed, but Windows had kept Microsoft's own driver over the specific Broadcom one. Now I have both WiFi and Bluetooth selectable in the Windows 8 settings panel. Once Bluetooth was activated I was able to install the Bluetooth drivers, and then I reinstalled the Windows 8 energy management drivers over the top to do an in-place upgrade. I didn't need to use the Fn button as it wasn't enabled in BIOS. I changed the power settings of the active profile temporarily so pressing the power button put the PC into hibernate mode, and on resuming the WiFi button worked as expected. Unfortunately the buttons for WiFi and camera don't work in Windows 8 properly, unless you hibernate the PC and resume. These let you enable and disable Wifi and Bluetooth individually. I uninstalled the Windows 8 energy management drivers, and installed the Windows 7 energy management drivers. The Windows 8 energy management drivers only activated flight mode when the wireless button was pressed. I had a similar problem on my S206 - WiFi was on but Bluetooth was off when I upgraded Windows, and when upgraded I couldn't install the driver for bluetooth as the install wizard insisted I didn't have the hardware connected. What am I missing? I badly need your help. 
Enabled/Disabled Wireless Adapter = no avail Updated and Reinstalled the WLAN and Power Management drivers to the latest versions = no availĥ. Fn + F5 enables/disables Airplane Mode onlyģ. nothing happens if I toggle ON/OFF the switch, cross checked in device manager = no changes I've searched the internet and saw similar problems, but no SOLID fix yet, mostly palliative and mind you, NONE worked for me. It's greyed out, even in PC Settings > Wireless.īelieve me when I say that I've spent more than 24 hours now trying to rectify this. It went well, but for some reason, after the installation, I couldn't turn my Wifi and Bluetooth ON. I recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro using its online installer.
